As I sit here and reflect back on 2011 I am eagerly waiting for the birth of 2012. I am truly blessed and have a wonderful life. I am surrounded by great people. I give thanks to my family, they amaze me with there growth and love. I give thanks to my employer Rhetta Whitehead and Craig Summerall with Exit Real Estate Consultants, I know of no better office. But mostly I give thanks to God as he is the driver of my life. I hope all of you have a Happy and safe New Year! With this I will post one of my favorite prayers that is a daily reflection for me.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
(Although known most widely in its abbreviated form above,
the entire prayer reads as follows…)
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

It is part of what is often referred to as the Midlands comprised of four counties (Lexington, Richland, Kershaw, and Fairfield county).Irmo has lots to offer to its residents from some of the finest shopping in the Columbia area, great schools, to convenience to major interstates heading in and out of Columbia, South Carolina. Irmo is also home to the beautiful waters of Lake Murray sharing the north shores of Lake Murray with the southern shore neighbor, the city of Lexington.Irmo is home to the annual Okra Strut. It started out as modest arts and crafts sale held in Seven Oaks Park, during which the women also sold Okra. By 1978, it had grown into a full-fledged festival. The Okra Strut remains a popular festival throughout the State of South Carolina. Attendance for the 2005 festival was said to be approximately 45,000.Irmo was chartered on Christmas Eve in 1890 in response to the opening of the Columbia, Newberry and Laurens Railroad. The name of Irmo was the result of combining the names of Captain C.J. Iredell and Henry Moseley, two important figures in the founding of the town. Despite the town’s growth, Irmo does not have an actual downtown area. Rather, it includes only several clusters of suburban neighborhoods. One of the major shopping centers in the Columbia area, the Harbison shopping area is located in Irmo. Several parks green the Irmo area, the largest being Harbison State Park. Harbison is a planned community with extensive recreational facilities, and over seven miles of wide paved trails wind throughout the neighborhoods.Irmo which is located in the “northwest region” of Columbia is one of the fastest growing residential areas of town. The northwest has been a hotbed of new housing developments in recent years. New upscale communities are being built in this beautiful and largely rural part of Greater Columbia.
