USC Gamecocks VS Auburn Tigers. Williams-Brice Stadium Columbia South Carolina 3:30PM If you are lucky enough to find tickets this is one of this weekends top things to do. Many fans start rolling into the various parking facilities as early as Friday morning for the feast that awaits the many tailgaters. USC Gamecocks fans are some of the most die hard fans in the College nation and its an experience you must have at least once. From the Cock a boos to the truck bed its always a great time. Go Cocks!

Big Game primitive Weapon season opener Oct 1-10 .  For the sportsman and Hunter enthusiast this is opening weekend in all the upstate regions counties for big game.  Traditionally a weekend that will collect many fine trophy’s for the sportsman and not to mention some great table fare. ZOO Fari Columbia’s wonderful Riverbanks Zoo is hosting its annually voted best after hours event tonight at 7PM with Live entertainment and close up animal encounters. Ticket prices start at $50.00 and includes cocktails and delicious cuisine. Simply a must do!

EIGHTH ANNUAL LEXINGTON POKER RUN: ok bikers saddle up.  10 a.m. Saturday, begins at Wings N Ale, 154 Ellis Ave. All bikes welcome. A benefit for the Southeastern Firefighters’ Burn Foundation. $20 per hand; $10 per rider. (803) 356-3348 for more info.

NINTH ANNUAL CONGAREE SWAMPFEST: “Evening of BBQ, Blues and Jazz” fundraiser, 7 tonight, Harriet Barber House, 116 Barberville Loop and Lower Richland Blvd., Hopkins. Tickets: $15; day of event, $20. MAIZE QUEST” CORN MAZE: Open through Nov. 20, Clinton Sease Farm, 404 Olde Farm Road, Lexington SC. This year’s theme is Knights and Dragons.  Hours of operation are 6-11 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturdays and 2-7 p.m. Sundays. Regular admission: $10; ages 2 and younger are free. Guests invited to bring flashlights during “Flashlight Nights” on Friday and Saturdays.  This is the kickoff weekend and always a top thing for the kids. (803) 730-2863 for more info.

WALK FOR LIFE AND 5K RACE FOR LIFE: 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Finlay Park, 930 Laurel St. Proceeds will benefit the Palmetto Health Breast Center. www.palmettohealthfoundation.org

11Th Annual Newberry Octoberfest Just a short hop away is the shadow community of Newberry and this is one of there top events of the year. The event features live entertainment, a food court, culinary stage, liver nips contest, kids rides and crafts, classic cars and plenty of vendors lining Main Street.  Over 15,000 attended last year’s event.  Bring the family out for some fun, music, shopping and German food!
